Launched in 2003 by Institute President Jeffrey Davidow, Project Mexico draws on the expertise of Mexican and international scholars, corporate leaders and political analysts to identify legal, regulatory and structural changes that will help Mexico strengthen its political and economic development, maintain and enhance its competitive status, protect its environment and reduce poverty.

Corporate Social Responsibility

The Institute conducted a year-long study to identify obstacles to cooperation between business, government and private citizens on projects to improve the quality of life for the Mexican people. More than a dozen events followed the release of the report, “Una Mejor Colaboración:"Fortaleciendo la contribución de las empresas mexicanas a la sociedad civil.”

The Institute has also worked to increase corporate philanthropy in Mexico by urging private enterprises to become more engaged and professional in their giving, by encouraging the recipients of corporate donations to become more transparent in their accounting practices and to push government agencies to simplify requirements and paperwork.

As the carbon emission policy debate rages in North America, governments throughout the U.S. and Canada are considering a host of global warming initiatives. Their decisions will impact not only Mexico's environment but economic growth and the quality of life of the Mexican people.

Carbon Emission Reduction Strategy

Latin America is poised to assume a leadership role in meeting the environmental challenges of today. Its rich natural resources and sustained economic growth present an opportunity to lead international efforts to address climate change by taking advantage of investment opportunities in Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects and the emerging global carbon market.
