Tequila Talks
These informal, off-the-record talks have become a premier cross-border forum for debating regional politics, immigration, human rights, labor and the looming fight over oil. Guest lecturers, often speaking in Spanish, address their audiences with a splash of Cuervo and a good measure of candor, setting the stage for aprovocative Q&A.
Arts and Culture
Folk art, ceramics, and cultural celebrations bring the pungent flavors, vibrant colors and rhythmic sounds
of Latin America to our multinational community.
Speaker Series
Political trends, foreign policy, investment and regional trade outlooks are the focus
of business briefings by Latin American experts in this ongoing series.
Encuentros (archived)
Series of interviews with politicians and personalities on Latin America’s political systems, economic growth, trade and U.S. foreign policy in the hemisphere aired on the UCSD-TV and UC-TV networks. The taped interviews are available on the Internet at UCSD-TV/ Encuentros.
