About Past “La Jolla Conferences”

Each year, the Institute of the Americas convenes almost 200 participants (see graph below) for its annual international summit focused on Western Hemisphere energy issues. The annual forum, known as “The La Jolla Conference” has been hosted by the Institute for the past 20 years and is recognized as the most significant meeting of its kind. Participants include energy ministers from across the hemisphere, chief executive officers, government officials, bankers, analysts and regulatory officials who meet to discuss regional trends, new projects, regional agreements, changes in regulations and new investment opportunities. At this prestigious meeting, participants build strong relationships between government and business and are afforded important networking opportunities in a casual setting.
