On July 1, Ricardo Martinelli assumed the presidency of Panama. The plans of the new government for the country’s energy sector will be the focus of this one-day executive roundtable. The Martinelli Government plans to maintain a strong focus on private sector involvement and the protection of private investment, but a new vision is likely to see a more activist government approach. Panels will feature senior officials from the Martinelli Government, the Panama Canal Authority, as well as energy company representatives and the financial sector. Key themes will include: Energy outlook and plans of the new government; energy and the expansion of the Panama Canal; pipelines and infrastructure; energy integration; renewable resources; and energy and environment.
