PRESENTATIONS
For years, Brazil has garnered international attention for its ever-growing natural resource profile thanks to major offshore oil discoveries, abundant hydroelectricity, and world class biofuel production. The country’s energy sector has long been poised to catapult the country’s economy forward. But against the backdrop of a persistent drought and continued oil market volatility, it is useful to assess the myriad pieces of Brazil’s energy market and its outlook. Has the country arrived at the dawn of a new energy era?
The objective of this half-day executive roundtable is to debate the concept of a new energy era for Brazil and what it might comprise. The continued importance of the pre-salt resource and the country’s Round 13 oil and gas bidding will be key discussion points. In addition, natural gas transport auctions, the country’s evolving energy matrix and the role of wind, tackling climate change concerns, and the outlook for biofuels will be assessed. Above ground issues such as finance, local content and the role of communities will also be discussed.
