Through the collaboration between the Institute of the Americas, UC San Diego and the Smart Border Coalition, Envision 2020 offered a discussion and useful recommendations on using emerging technologies toward ensuring the US-Mexico border is smart, open and safe. As is the case between Canada and the US, border infrastructure is critical to North American trade, competitiveness and prosperity.
With our North American neighbors as principal trading partners — Canada as the US’ first and Mexico as the 3rd largest trading partner and—we rely on smart borders to power our economies. Such borders need to be efficient, secure and frictionless.
Please join us on Thursday, October 15, downtown at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce to hear from His Excellency Gary Doer, Canada’s Ambassador to the US, on “Visions of North American Economic Competitiveness from Energy to Smart Borders.” Please note that while the event is free, space is limited so you are kindly asked to pre-register. Should you have any questions, please contact Sherry White.
