Colombia’s oil sector has garnered headlines in recent weeks. Major activity is underway. Oxy announced a deal to sell its onshore assets to private equity firm Carlyle for almost $900 million while Ecopetrol will conduct an auction for nine of the company’s fields by the end of the year. ANH, the national regulator, launched an ambitious oil & gas bid round that concludes in early December. At the same time the social risks associated with oil development in the wake of implementation of the peace agreement and the need to ensure community engagement and support for project development remain crucial. The overhaul of how the country manages and distributes hydrocarbons royalties is an integral element. Understanding the social risks as Colombia’s oil sector heats up is at the center of a new tool that Control Risks has created for the Colombian market.
Join us for this virtual event focused on Colombia’s oil & gas outlook and the role of risk management, as well as an update on M&A activity and what it means for the sector as we head into 2021.
