This roundtable will highlight the United States’ push to expand U.S. – Brazil commercial, trade and investment relations with a targeted focus on the science and technology sectors, as well as Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff’s commitment to expand research and education in the STEM fields. These joint efforts are designed to strengthen business, scientific and academic partnerships between the two countries.
During her visit to San Diego, Ambassador Ayalde and Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs Brian Brisson are interested in learning more about current and potential partnerships between U.S. and Brazilian companies, organizations, research centers of excellence, and universities.
Briefings from Ambassador Ayalde and Minister Counselor Brisson, as well as from selected local speakers will frame the roundtable dialogue. Roundtable attendees will be encouraged to engage in the conversation highlighting the successes and challenges they have experienced, and provide suggestions on how to move forward to strengthen and expand binational business (with emphasis on science and technology), as well as areas to development additional partnerships in research and STEM education.
