As Colombia’s energy sector has grown in size and sophistication, the economic benefits have increasingly been countered by community and environmental concerns. While the Colombian government and private sector continue to grapple with these issues, community, indigenous, and environmental groups have become ever more vocal in their desire for greater participation and inclusion.
Join us for a webinar discussion with Fernando Benalcázar, Vice President for Latin America at Equitable Origin. Benalcázar will discuss how Colombia is attempting to balance economic growth and investment with social responsibility across the energy value chain. He will also reflect on approaches to improve cooperation between government, industry, and civil society, including consulta previa or prior consultation processes.
Benalcázar’s presentation will be followed by an interactive question and answer session with the audience. If you are interested but unable to attend, please register anyway and we will send you the link.
