Brazil’s immense oil potential is well-known. Since the discovery of the pre-salt in 2007, the nation’s energy prospects have been on the rise. The pre-salt holds an estimated 16 barrels of oil equivalent or 1 percent of the world’s reserves. Yet despite significant reserves and increased production (Brazil produced 3% of global production or 2.3 million barrels per day in 2014), as well as technological advances in deepwater drilling, Brazil’s oil and gas sector has yet to reach its potential.
Join us for a webinar discussion with Lavinia Hollanda, Research Director at FGV Energia, to discuss some of the challenges facing Brazil’s oil sector, from global oil prices and investment climate, to above ground risks at home. Ms. Hollanda will also discuss the opportunities for Brazil going forward.
Ms. Hollanda’s presentation will be followed by a question and answer session with the audience.
