He received a Law Degree from the Fre School of Law, a Master Degree in Environmental Law and Energy from the University of Tulane, for which he obtained scholarships for the Fulbright and Ford MacArthur foundations and as a Doctor in Environment and Development from the National Polytechnic Institute. Additionally, he completed a postgraduate course in Economic and Corporate Law at the Universidad Panamericana.
He has an extensive professional career in Socio-Environmental Law including national and international experience in legislative matters and consulting.
He is a founding partner of Vera & Asociados Ambiental Legal, S.C. which is the first firm in Latin America dedicated exclusively to Environmental Law, Sustainable Development, Biotechnology and other related areas. In academic matters, he has been a professor coordinator of various master’s degrees and diplomas. Currently, he also serves as the representative for Mexico of the Program of Science and Technology for Development (CYTED) of the UN and is Secretary of the Fulbright Scholars Association in Mexico. Since December 1, 2018, he is the Executive Director of the Safety, Energy and Environment Agency (ASEA).
